The biggest populations in the world

January27

world-population-day

There are 7 billion of us on the planet but where are we all?

I though that this was hard after the first 15 but maybe that’s just me.

Good Luck!

Y9 The Changing Face of China

July17

As you know we’ve been looking at China in the last few lessons, and focussing on how the country is changing. One of you has sent me a link to a brilliant video that I’ll get to show some classes (but not all) before the end of term.  It really focusses on how Shanghai has changed in your lifetimes.  This is the link to the video,  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wbGFeDR7Gg&safe=active shanghai-hero-636x4311

The video really highlights how much lifestyles and expectations have changed and around 10 minutes in there is a big focus on how the lives of women have changed. Shanghai2

The other thing that comes across quickly is how crowded the city is,  Shanghai is in the densely populated east of China, which as you know from lessons is the area with the flattest land and the most temperate climate, 113908-004-1C1F647E

The link below takes you to the National Geographic site and a photo gallery of places in China which will probably make you want to get on a plane and go and see the country.
